What are workers?

Most buildings allow you to employ associated workers for the welfare of your province. There are a variety of workers available which can be accessed from the Population tab.

Direction: Settlement -> Population

As you construct more structures, you will need to employ more workers to keep producing the required resources. The amount of workers you can hire depends on the amount of respective building you have built, since buildings allow employment of workers. Each turn, your workers will increase their skill level (so long as they do not sit idly), and thus become more proficient at their trade, producing more resources.

Employing workers
Workers are updated as you build new buildings in your province. The maximum amount of any worker unit you can hire depends on the amount of units you have built for the associated building. Employing workers is easy, just follow the steps outlined below and refer to the print screen above:

  1. Enter the amount of workers you wish to employ in the Adjust column. Everytime you add new workers, the overall Skill Level of the workforce drops since the new recruits have to start learning the trade from scratch. It is advised that you let the skill of your workforce rise before adding new recruits.
  2. Click on the Update Workforce button at the bottom of the page or hit ENTER on your keyboard.

Similarly, if you wish to unemploy some workers, enter a negative amount under the Adjust column for the respective worker(s) and hit ENTER.
